Loading docks are key to getting product to either a warehouse or an establishment such as a grocery supply. What can go wrong if proper maintenance is neglected? How about the ability in getting your products delivered in a timely fashion or the potential to damage any goods you have in the docking warehouse.
Loading docks are typically integrated with grate covered drains that help keep things such as debris, dirt, rocks and more from clogging up the draining system but often times regular maintenance is neglected causing more issues in the long run.
Once enough debris gets backed up the pump system fails to be able to pump out rain water that has collected due to the drains being full. This can in turn cause trucks to not be able to properly & safely dock as well as should a truck attempt docking, can cause a wave of water to be pushed up in to the dock. This in turn can ruin any product held there; causing a potential tremendous loss in revenue.
We suggest loading dock maintenance be done quarterly in order to prevent back-ups, loss of inventory and trucks being held up to drop new merchandise/product – proper maintenance will in the long run save money should the pumps wear out or break; that’s when the real cost can come in and even longer downtime of getting your product delivered.
